The Tema Foundation Family Fund Event & Education Grants are community support grants offered and funded by the TEMA Foundation as part of our ongoing commitment to provide mental health and wellness education, we offer financial support to people that keep us healthy and safe—along with the important people in their lives. WHO CAN APPLY?
Funding from The Tema Foundation Family Fund is available to recognized vital services and organizations in Canada. It’s dedicated to involving family, friends, support personnel, and other important people in the lives those who keep us healthy or safe, in an engaging event that promotes the healthier mental health they so truly deserve.
This grant is not for individual people or individual families. Please contact your nearest vital services organization and request they apply on this page for event funding.
HOW DOES THE FAMILY FUND WORK?

The proposed event must include an educational component that is evidence based and consistent with The Tema Foundation curriculum. This can be given by one of our instructors or can be given by an approved member of the recipient organization.
This grant is not for individual people or families.
Example if the Barrie, Ontario Fire Department wants to put on an educational event for its friends and family they can make an application for support for an event.
If the ICU staff of the QE 2 Hospital in Halifax wants to do an educational event for friends and family they can make an application for funds from the grant.

To be considered for funding the organization must submit an agenda for the program and what educational content and activities they plan to offer. This will have to be signed off by the Foundation. The money will only be reimbursed after receipts have been submitted.

The Family grant is for up to $1,000.00 per event in support of a mental health and wellness educational event for family, friends, support personnel and other important people in the lives of any recognized service or organization that involves first responders and/or frontline workers.

An organization can apply more than once for the grant as long as all rules are followed.

Example event: If a Police, Fire, EMS and/or Department or Branch of the Military or ICU staff of a Hospital or healthcare facility in any city wants to put on an educational event for its friends and family of service members, they can make an application for support for an event.
